As a yoga instructor, I am a lifetime student, exploring the range of benefits that yoga offers from its roots in India as a practice for mind, body, and spiritual health to its ongoing transformation in support of all body types and life circumstances. My daily yoga practice has been a stedfast companion and ally to my growth over the last 28 years.
In the gym, my students and I transform energy as a collective, and simultaneously, pursue a very personal yogic path. I instruct a variety of yoga classes: yin, vinyasa, power yoga, gentle, restorative and yoga nidra.
At home, you might find me doing a side lunge to clip veggies in the garden, lifting with my legs instead of my back when carrying heavy objects or tuning into my core, posture, and breath when I cook, clean or create.
Body consciousness, body love and mental health are fundamental to my life as a survivor and multi-ethnic, queer, sober…human. I have experienced much physical illness and injury over the years, which has meant a lot of recovery time not using my body in the ways I love. It has been empowering to claim my right to wellness and give back some of that goodness as a yoga instructor.
See you on the mat.
